If I Didn't Have Dogs....
(Posted 7/8/2010)

I could safely walk around the backyard barefoot.

All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture and cars would be free of DOG HAIR.

When the doorbell rings, I’d be able to hear the guests. I could get to the door without wading through dog bodies who beat me there.

I could sit on the couch the way I want, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable.

I would not be on a first name basis with three vets.

The most common words in my vocabulary would not be “out,” “sit,” “off,” “come,” “no,” “stay” and “leave it.”

I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L or W-A-L-K.

The sheets and comforters on the bed would be big enough to cover the people in the bed.

I could spend my extra money on bath salts and cologne instead of Febreeze and odor-eating candles.

I wouldn’t have as many leaves inside my house as outside.

I wouldn’t have to answer the question, “Why do you have so many dogs?” from people who will never have the joy of knowing they are loved unconditionally by something as close to an angel as they will ever see.

How empty my life would be...

"Envision a world where no old dog dies alone and afraid."

Imagine an old dog that you have loved taken away, left afraid, confused and without needed medical care.

Thousands of old dogs are abandoned each year and end up in shelters across the U.S. And many old dogs that end up in shelters are euthanized. The Grey Muzzle Organization would like to change this outcome.

YOU CAN HELP.

Visit their web site at www.greymuzzle.org to see how you can help or stop by The Dog House and purchase a keepsake ornament or lapel pin (all proceeds to benefit The Grey Muzzle Organization and are tax deductible.)
